The American Dental Association has guidelines for frequency of Dental Radiographs (Xrays).
The decision to take xrays should be made by the Dentist based on the individual patient's needs.  Some patients without a history of Dental Caries may have xrays as infrequently as every 3 years.

Thanks for sharing such great information! A digital dental x-ray is a type of dental x-ray that uses a digital detector instead of the traditional film detector. A digital dental x-ray offers certain advantages over a traditional one, such as improved image quality and easier storage. Since they are more detailed, digital dental x-rays are better at detecting signs of oral cancer, cavities, and bone loss. Traditionally, this type of x-ray was not able to detect these things accurately. In addition, the process of taking a digital dental x-ray is quicker and more convenient than taking a traditional one. These benefits have led to the increased use of digital dental x-rays in dentistry.
